Today is our Anniversary. :o) It marks 4 years of marriage, and 8 years of being happily together. As Colin has been mentioning all week, this officially means we've been married more than we were not married! Yay! :oD
People kept telling us that our crazy "in love" feeling would go away after a couple years of knowing each other. We're still waiting for that to happen, and at this point, I have serious doubts that it will. Serious, serious doubts.
Take a memory trip with us: If we haven't mentioned lately, extra special thanks to Best Man Joe for introducing us 8 years ago. We really appreciate it. ;o)
This is about as simple and distinct as you can get:
(yoda!)
Check out Creatures By Chelsea on Etsy to see all the different kinds. Each pair is unique, and she makes child sizes too!
My favorite part is that you can wear your regular clothes and it still looks like a costume! Can you imagine dressing up more and wearing these to a party?
I adore mine. I will definitely be wearing them this October. :o)
I was selected to be the cover art for the September/October issue of Divine Revolution Magazine. From what I can tell, they discuss art, poetry and other writings, eco-mindedness, spirituality, and raw/vegan/healthy eating.
There's also a music video, called Living Darfur, directly to the right of my Sand Flower painting, that I highly recommend. It's set in Darfur, and (aside from the music) shows the daily life and culture of those living there. Rad. I love relevant things.
If you're in New York City, it should be available soon in various boutiques and stores. If you're everywhere else in the world that isn't New York City, you can pick one up at Trunkt's Blurb store online. :o) They're available in hardcover (with a dust jacket) and paperback.
Also be sure to check out Trunkt.org, which hosts some of the most beautiful artist's portfolios I've ever seen.
This one is "purple & gold," which might seem confusing since there are clearly other colors involved, but, you see, it was the purple and gold that I was learning about. That, and how this particular UV pigment works. I think I was studying "antique" rather than a particular color.
Anyway, this was made with the strongest glow pigment available. That picture was not even taken with all the lights off. I could have taken it with the lights off, but I wanted to show you how well it glows even with the lights on!! Supposedly it glows for over 12 hours straight, although I don't even know how I would test this, since it's not even dark out for 12 hours.
You know what that means, right? That means that it should still be glowing by the time the sun comes up, so it should never *not* be light reactive! Hee...
Who needs fireflies? [hey, that gives me an idea for something...]
