But not exactly not...
These pink clouds were floating by directly overhead. Wispy and pink, they were.
...and despite not taking very good care of my 2nd plumeria tree on the balcony, it's proving its worth anyway. I love plumeria. They're really just the best flower in the whole world.
It was weird out today, cloudy and humid. I loved it. I guess I would prefer it to be sunny and humid, but that never really happens in Southern California.
I've been very peaceful lately, an interesting contrast to how much work we have before us, how much planning we are doing, and how out-of-our-element we've been feeling. I don't know why, exactly, but maybe it's because all of this work is going to benefit our long term goals in a really powerful way. I feel things starting to click. The work and opportunities that are ahead of us seem to be a direct response to our goals, which we've been speaking out loud as much as possible.
I'm such a romantic. It's hard for me not to take things like pink clouds, blooming plumeria, and warm humidity as some sort of encouragement that we're on the right path, a path that will eventually lead us to achieving our life-long quest to move away from this awful place and forge a new life somewhere else, in a place that feels like home.
Oh, cool, the sun just came out.

The trees that surround my apartment are back. They do this every year.
I didn't particularly want to live this far away from everything, but as soon as we walked into this place during our rental tour, I was confident about living here. The trees cover every window of the apartment. During those few months when the tree is completely full, our apartment is very private and serene. You can't see anything from the windows but the trees. The whole apartment is bathed in a soft green light all day. It's REALLY amazing in June.
I love those trees.

I've been working hard again. March has become a month of in-process paintings.
Spring is almost here, although since I live in Southern California, I guess it might already be here. (Minus the random, rainy, cold days that fool you into thinking that Spring is not here.) I love spring, it's very inspiring. Buds are growing on the trees that surround my apartment and balcony. My
beloved orange tree is blossoming, which is just the most glorious thing ever when I'm painting on the balcony. I often wonder what my neighbors must think of me when they see me out there. There's that crazy artist girl again, throwing paint around on her balcony.
Oh right, so I've been able to paint on the balcony again, because of the sunshine and warmth. :o) This makes me happy. Of course, now it officially makes sense for
Colin and I to
clean the balcony, and remove all the dead leaves that accumulated during Winter.
My goal right now is to keep my head down and work really hard, because my secondary goals are going to require a lot of paintings.
Everything in the world should glow.

To celebrate my birthday last weekend, I wanted to go
somewhere that was relaxing, rejuvenating, and tranquil.
Well, either way. I did get to see these beautiful
fishies. :o)
I used to go to
Balboa Park in San Diego often with my grandparents. My Grandma would sit outside near the fountain while my Grandpa and I ran around the
science center and saw the IMAX movie.

I am so awestruck. I get so many painting ideas from astronomy pictures. Obviously.

own website and my mind has been broken.
Wow. This guy is brilliant. He is writing a book about his sky pictures. Wow.
